Don your purpley goodness and get on down to the Meet the Scene Ball this weekend! There will be plenty to see, lots to dance, a shim sham, a group chareslton, and awesome people watching!
Joel and Loz will both be performing with their respective troupes so come along and see your teachers strut their stuff!!!
Meet the Scene Ball
When: Saturday 15rd May, 2010
Where: Malvern Town Hall, on the corner of Glenferrie Rd and High in Malvern.
Time: Doors open at 8.00pm (no earlier)
Live Music: Margot Leighton & the Swing-Stirs - Swing that's stirred, not shaken
Snacks and Drinks: Liquid Infusion will be in attendance, so it’s strictly NO BYO.
(Soft drinks from $2; beer, red, white and sparking wines $5)
Venue Colours: PURPLE
Cost: $22 in advance, or $25 at the door
After Party: 12:30am onwards at Forever Dance, upstairs at 432 Church St in Richmond
$8 at the door, or $4 with a wrist stamp from the ball.
Guest Teacher for the next 2 weeks
Loz is heading off to Malaysia for 2 weeks to see her family, eat some good food, and buy some new shoes so you are very lucky to be having a wonderful guest teacher by the name of Emily Dunstan for the next two weeks. Emily is gorgeous, talented, funny and taught with Joel last year, so you'll have an absolute blast learning from these two ol' buddies!

Listening to the music and using pulse and counting to hear count 1.
Some 8-beat technique: direction and positions, tracking your partner, taking clear step on 5 for leads
- Combining 6-beat, 8-beat and charleston rhythms
- Using: 8-beat circle, tuck turn, corridors, pass by
- Leading a change from kick lands into triple steps using body placement and obvious "down" motion into triples.
The Melbourne Swing Festival is coming up so keep the Queen's B'day weekend free for a big dance party!!
