Our Performance Ball Routine Begins!

()
30 Aug 2010

Hello ello ello :)

What a fun filled night we had last night. Welcome to those who are new to our diary notes, and welcome back to those who keep up to date as the weeks go on.

Recapping from Monday 23rd August;

6:30pm Level 1 - CHARLESTON - Hand to hand with double kicks (remember, keeping you arms out like Barbie...or Ken, and also keeping the pressure on when you're in hand to hand), "L" kick, or change of place, finishing in closed with out traditional Charleston footwork.

7:30 Lindy Clinic - We re-caped out basic moves; swing-out, basic, circle, inside turn, outside turn and the Texas Tommy. Wow, that's heaps of moves now! We officially did our first rueda, and finished off with a double spin for the girls. Twas a dizzy night!

7:30pm Level 2 - It was all about Blues tonight! We talked about weight collection, and how not to dance like Frankenstein, or like you're at a primary school dance! We moved on to single fish-tails with our hips and inter-graded the counterbalance circle. It was looking superb :)

Our class structure as of 30th August 2010:
6:30pm - Level 1
7:30pm - Performance Ball Routine...Woohoo!
8:30pm - Level 2 - Introduction to Blues

Performance Ball - Saturday 30th October
Please make sure that you keep Saturday the 30th of October free (7pm - late, so make sure you book the babysitter for the night!) as Bentleigh will be strutting our stuff on the dance floor! The Performance Ball routine will be geared at a level 1.5, that means both level 1 and level 2 can give it a go.

"I wont be in Melbourne on the night of the performance ball. Should I still learn the routine?"

If you know you wont be available to come along to the Performance Ball...don't worry, we have the perfect opportunity for you to show it off. We have been invited to the Bentleigh Festival on Sunday the 21st November. We will (fingers crossed) perform as a group to the wonderful people of our community. Festivals are always a great day out, so be sure to mark it in your diaries.

On a different note, learning the performance ball routine is great for your personal dancing too. We will be mixing in all the bits and pieces we have learned over the last 8 months and getting your moves looking like the pro's!

Have a fantastic sunny week and we'll see you on Monday night,

Suzy and Keith :)

Ps. Mary, we hope you have an AWESOME time when you are over in the UK. We cant wait to hear about all your dancing adventures from the other side of the world! You'll be missed and we're looking forward to seeing you back at Bentleigh in November xx
