Big Band night at North Melbourne!

So excited about our Big Band night this Thursday night!! This is a once in a year event and unique to Nth Melbourne. Would love all of you to be part of it. Classes will run as usual and then the live music kicks off at 9-30pm.

There will be a charge of 10 dollars for social dancing or 5 dollars if you have taken a class. This is just to help support the 17 musicians that are coming to join us from Monash Jazz Orchestra!

Dress up a bit to add to the atmosphere and there'll be prizes for best dressed. We have confirmed performances from both Swing Patrol troupes Brat Pack and Harlem Shout, plus strolls, jams and more!!

Hope you've checked out our Facebook video of the routine so far. Its going great so far and we look forward to more this week. Level 3 will be a pumping charleston class to get us in the mood!

 

This week’s class line-up is:           

Level 1  at 6:30 pm – Charleston!

 

This class is open to all…you can start anytime...and it will give you great swing dancing foundations.  Bring a friend or workmate, make some friends and have a ball!

 

We come back to one of our favourite rhythms..the Charleston!! High energy, great fun, will get you ready to bust out to the band!

 

Level 2 at 7:30 pm – Week 4 of the ROUTINE!

 

The routine is looking amazing and we are having a ball teaching it to you! Take a little time to practice during the week..will make a huge difference in class. Some consolidation this week plus we work on our 8 beat rhythm to get it up to speed. 

 

Level 3 at 8:30 pm – Pumping Charleston!!!

 

Its been a while since we’ve revisited charleston and what better time than a big band night! Challenging charleston combos that you can lead/follow on the social floor.

Will get you fired up for a huge night! 

 

 

Social dancing

 

Social dancing at North Melbourne is a unique experience with a cool atmosphere, fun dancers, and usually two DJs every week (but this week we have a big band so this info is a bit different).  It’s $6 dollars at the door and goes from 9:30 pm til midnight.  If you take the classes, social dancing is free.  Enjoy the big, beautiful dance floor, air conditioning, and the fantastic, friendly (and slightly crazy) North Melbourne crew.  All welcome!
