Performance Ball 2009

Don't miss out on the FUN as all our brave dancers take the stage and perform for their fellow dancers, friends and family. Join us at the enormous and spectacular Kingston City Hall and enjoy a night of performance and social dancing as well. The focus of the evening is really just appreciating, applauding and cheering on all of your dancing friends as they take to the floor!

Swing dancers from classes at North Melbourne, South Melbourne, Bentleigh, Ringwood, Brunswick, Camberwell, Melbourne CBD, Fitzroy, Kew, Northcote, Glen Waverley, Geelong, Richmond (Bal Pit), St Kilda and Frankston will all be performing.  In addition, Tap Patrol and Swing Kids will also perform on the night!

Cost:    Pre-purchased: $20 adults,  $10 kids

Food and Drink:Strictly NO BYO.  There will be a bar with food and drinks

3. Schedule:

The night is your night of nights! Your time to take the spotlight and be a performing swing dancing diva, dynamo and megastar! there will be 2-3 sets of performances and then the rest of the night will be dedicated to social dancing.  Yes, there will be lots of social dancing, yes, there will be plenty of performances for your friends to watch and enjoy.  We always have so many people who have never performed before, are nervous and rise to the challenge of performing for their peers. Be assured there is no audience like a swing dancing audience and you will be supported and cheered as we all know the nerves that get to us sometimes on a night such as this.

Order of routines will be posted closer to the night. If you are performing in more than one routine we cannot necessarily provide for everyone's costume changes. Practice the art of the quick-change and Claudia can s-t-r-e-t-c-h an introduction on the night if needed!

5. Performance Ball FAQ!

Can we BYO drinks and Food?
NO...there will be a full bar, they will also provide snacks.  Best thing to do is eat a meal before you come if you need to eat a meal. Please do not BYO anything.

I’m not a dancer… Can I still come along?
Yes... Come support all the nervous dancers as they put on their best performance smiles!! There is nothing like performing to those we love so the more the merrier.  Great night for your non swing friends to be involved.

Will there be a lesson beforehand?
Yes. We'll do a half hour intro lesson on the night for our guests to feel empowered, have a taste and gain full apprecaition of your dancing efforts!

I'm Performing, Do I need to purchase a ticket?
Yes, everyone needs a ticket to get in.

Can I get a ticket at the door?
Yes, but we advise you to pre book to save any stress.  The Venue is capped at 800 and we've sold out before!!

What do I need to wear?
What you wear on the night is totally up to you... Most venues will have a 'costume' if you are performing... So make sure to listen to your teachers about what you need to wear on the night.

Will there be lots of room to sit down?
There will be seating but it will be limited... There is no reserved seating and its simply a case of first in... first seated!

Will there be food and drink available?
Yes...at bar prices.

Will there be an after party?
Absolutely!!  Forever dance is the place to be after the ball.  Check out the details below
