Go from zero to lindy hop hero in just one day! Join champion dancers Evan and Noni for a fun-filled workshop jam-packed with great learning for newer dancers. You'll learn everything you need to be social dancing in no time and discover the secrets to great lindy hop, rhythm and musicality.Let's just say Evan and Noni are big fans of swing dancing. For years, these two demons have been teaching together in Melbourne, across Australia and overseas. Together, they won the Australian Hellzapoppin' Prize in both 2010 and 2011, and have taken first prizes in everything from Blues to Balboa, and of course Lindy Hop.
In this workshop, Evan and Noni are going to use their polished technique to unwrap Lindy Hop for newer dancers.
They are going to get participants up and social dancing in no time; tweaking existing technique for some, starting from scratch with others; everyone will get something from this learning opportunity.

Lindy Hop 101
Lindy Hop in all it's glory! We are cracking open the secrets to great swing outs, even if this is your first attempt. We will have everyone swinging out hardcore in no time! Open to everyone!
12.00pm - 1.15pm
Lindy Hop moves & styling
Ok, you just learned, or worked on your swingout; time to get creative! We are going to tear through a bunch of great content with plenty of moves primed for the social floor. Follows will be swivelling like demons and leads will be laying out like Frankie before the end of this session.

Rhythm-mania!
Mixing and matching all of the rhythms that make up social dancing! We are going to equip you with everything you need to smoothly transition from Lindy hop, to 20s, 6 beat, Side-by-side & tandem Charleston. Learn our methods to social dance comfortably to a mix of tempos and styles of music.
3.45pm - 5.00pm
Musicality
This one will focus on Lindy Hop, and use other rhythms as a feature for highlights, texture, and bad-assery! There is nothing like hitting a break in your social dancing; we are going to give you the inside knowledge for getting under a song's skin!
$20 per session per person

Do I need a partner?
No, we will rotate partners in class.
What do I bring on the day?
Shoes for dancing, sweat towel, water and a big grin.

The workshop is aimed at newer dancers, primarily Level 1 and Level 2 students.
