Denise Cox
Denise discovered her love of swing dancing in Sydney in 1999... then moved to Melbourne the following year and discovered that their version of swing was called Lindy Hop... not the east coast, west coast and rockabilly she had learned in Sin City.
After a few years of Lindy, she then had a short dancing hiatus, returning to the dancefloors when Swing Patrol Doncaster opened its doors and somewhere along the way - including tap classes and Showgirls classes - heard of this shuffley dance called Balboa... and so the obsession began.
Since 2005, Denise has faithfully followed wherever the Balboa bug cared to lead, including, but not limited to Balpit - Prahran, Collingwood and Richmond venues, Spencers Live, Balboa On The Rocks, Balboa On The River, Balboa Rendezvous in San Diego which includes dancing at the Balboa Pavilion on the Balboa Peninsula, All Balboa Weekend in Cleveland Ohio, Club Maxie's in Prahran and some smokin' hot venues in New Orleans. That's a lot of Balboas...
2005 - Sydney Jitterbug Championships/Balboa On The Rocks - 2nd Balboa Jack & Jill
2006 - Australian Jitterbug Championships - 2nd All Bal Jam
2007 - danced in the Players Revue for the AFL Grand Final Footy Show (and didn't mess it up in front of millions of viewers or break any of the footy players!)

When she isn't dancing, Denise also enjoys sewing clothes from vintage patterns, DJing for balboa dances, fostering dogs for the Greyhound Adoption Program and being owned by a greyhound called Seamus.
