Carl Joseph

aka. "Balboa King" and "Afro Boy"

In the beginning there was a boy. With an afro. From humble beginings at Silvers Nightclub in February '99 this boy was bitten by the swing bug and became the "Lord of The Dance."

He preached and taught to fresh converts and seasoned travellers alike for many years. He has been to the four corners of the globe seeking guidance from the guru masters.

After a brief 3-year fling with Lindy Hop, he turned his skill to the intricate art of Balboa. Now he can be found gracefully sweeping across many a suburban dancefloor accompanied by the gasps and sighs of an adulating crowd.

He is also a masterful snake charmer, collects vintage bottle tops and stands outside Flinders Street Station on a Saturday night playing bagpipes.
