Fitzroy Blues Dancing

The final class of 2019 will be on Thursday 19 December.
Enjoy your holiday break, and join us again on Thursday 9 January 2020

Did you know you can dance to blues music?

Blues dancing is a wide collection of individual vintage dances, created and danced alongside blues music. Originating in the African-American communities where blues music was born, blues is now danced all over the world.

Easy to pick up and hard to master, blues dancing is a rich tapestry of rhythms and movements, focusing on a deep connection with your partner and the music.

——

“Mostly you played for the dancers” – Johnny Shines, a delta blues guitarist who began his career in 1932.
